Yuki’s older brother Ayame makes his grand ecchi entrance, and things get a little screwy. A funny episode all around, but wow, they really went overboard on the video effects in this one. Flowers, sparkles, zoom outs, stick figures… well, more so than usual anyway.

The anniversary of Toru’s mom’s death brings with it a trip to her grave and some sad reflections. Nice use of multiple frames here with Yuki, a real strong moment of reflection illustrated very well. Toru’s cheerfulness is a bit hard to swallow, but it fits her character. Momiji’s role at the end is why I’m really enjoying this show though. A seemingly minor comic relief character given by far the best lines of the episode.

Mostly filler here. The group takes a trip to the lake along with Hatori, and Ayame soon shows up. It rather annoys me that Ayame’s voice doesn’t match his character one bit, but he’s still rather funny in his ramblings regardless. Toru does her clueness thing while Kyo and Yuki bicker for a bit. Hatori gets the spotlight briefly, so things aren’t so bad.

Ok, so maybe you won’t learn anything new about tigers from this episode, but I do believe it’s fair to say tigers are adorable and you probably shouldn’t try to pet one. The episode makes a few good points on bullying and self worth, but brings home the message a little too heavy handedly for my tastes. Almost no real comedy to speak of, but Kisa is rather adorable throughout.
